| Dequan En (Dai Nationality),was born in May
of 1958 in a village of Lianghe County near Mengyang River in Yunnan province.
Since his childhood he liked music very much, and started to learn cucurbit
flute playing and making with his mother's brother & grandfather when
he was 10 years old. He kept hard tillage and research on the playing and
facture for more than 20 years and got high attainments. Except these, he
pay more attention to teach playing skill and knowladge, he have had not
only many internal students but also many foreign ones from Japan, Italy,
France and so on, this makes this folk art wide spread abroad. Recent years,
he had participate in the main cucurbit flute music of pantomime Water-splashing
Festival helden by Yunnan Cultural Office. Yunnan Audio & Vedio Publisher
made issue of his solo works [ Amorous Cucurbit Flute ] and more others. |
Zhiyu Yang (White Nationality), was born in
Aug. of 1972, Dali Binchuan of Yunnan. He started to learn making minority
instuments with his uncle who was a instruments making master, after the
hard study almost 10 years, now he can make more than 10 sorts of instruments
such as bawu, cucurbit flute, ebi, dongba,etc. especially on the bawu &
cucurbit flute making, his technics is deeply admitted and commended by
domestic and foreign music experts. On Jan. 1st, 1998, his bawu and cucurbit
flute were appointed as special products by Mingde Pan worldwide track visitors
group, now he cooperate with Mr. Dequan En, Dai national maker and performer
of bawu and cucurbit and continue the development and research work on folk
art. |
