PRESENTATION Described as one of the most outstanding Italian flutists of his generation, Maestro Nova graduated from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin in 1982, and in that same year won four National Competitions for Young musicians. He debuted as soloist with Italian Radio Television Orchestra and soon after he won the Lyon International Contest held by the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique and studied for four years with world-renowned flutist Maxence Larrieu. He was awarded the Dipl?me National d’Et?des Supérieures Musicales. He has worked with such artists as Maxence Larrieu, Bruno Canino, Alain Marion, Catrin Finch, Luciana Serra, Claudi Arimany as well as several orchestras. In addition, Mr. Nova is pursuing an active career as soloist, juror in Italian music competitions, and teacher. He has performed and taught master classes throughout Europe, the United States, Japan, and China. He taught at the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale di Saluzzo, at the Accademia Superiore di Pescara, and currently holds teaching positions at the Accademia Internazionale di Roma Arts Academy and at the Fondazione Musicale di Aosta. He was assistant to Maxence Larrieu at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Genéve and from ’97 to ’99 he held a parallel class to Jean-Pierre Rampal’s at Koblenz Musiktage in Germany. Giuseppe Nova plays on a gold flute made expressly for him by Yamaha. His recent tour in Japan earned him special interviews in La Campanella and The Flute. The Italian magazine FaLaUt has also devoted an issue with interview and CD to him. Founder and artistic director, with Jeff Silberschlag and Larry Vote, of Italy&USA festival, he has recently been included in the book Il Flauto Traverso (Italy, EDT Edition), among “the flutists who imposed themselves at the end of last century … soloists of international career.” In the past year, Giuseppe Nova has toured in Italy, Germany, United States, Japan, China, Malta, Spain, France, and Rumania.
